SOA Mattrix, the trailblazing figure in South Africa’s Amapiano movement, recently released his latest musical masterpiece, ‘Akani’.
Translating to “build together” in Xitsonga, this album explores life’s intricacies, love’s depths, spirituality’s essence, and the profound resonance of ancestral ties.
Having left an indelible mark on the global music scene with hits like ‘Mina Nawe’ and ‘Uthando’, SOA Mattrix is set to elevate his artistry to new heights with, ‘Akani’.
This album, deeply rooted in his personal experiences and cultural heritage, reflects his evolution as an artist and a father.
Collaborating with an exceptional lineup of vocalists, including Murumba Pitch, Sipho Magudulela, Cnethemba Gonelo, and others, ‘Akani’ seamlessly blends afro-soul and Amapiano with elements of Afro-Tech, jazz, Kwaito, R&B, and percussive basslines crafted from traditional log drums.
