Renowned singer and songwriter Aymos, also known as Babill Amos Shii, has officially released his much-anticipated single “10K,” marking another significant milestone in his illustrious music career.
The track, which showcases the remarkable vocal talents of Something Soweto and Sha Sha, as well as the expert production of Mas Musiq, is already garnering attention for its vibrant cultural and emotional depth.
“10K” captures the essence of lobola negotiations—a significant cultural practice where a man gathers resources to express gratitude to his partner’s family. Aymos’s evocative lyrics and soulful delivery set a poignant tone for the track, reflecting the deep-rooted cultural traditions and the emotional journey involved in these negotiations.
Opening with heartfelt lyrics, Aymos sings, “10 000 yey’nkomo letha ivula mlomo ngayikhipha iphelele zonke yikhukuhmele, mina ngathatha iskweleti ngaqokelela amasheleni thumela abo ankela bayothumela amasheleni,” setting the stage for a song that intertwines cultural significance with melodic artistry.
The track features an emotionally resonant contribution from Something Soweto, who adds depth with the line, “Awu thando lwakho lundishaya 10 000, awu ngaba yhini hiyo ngikuthanda and ngikufuna kanje.” Sha Sha’s involvement further enhances the track, offering a captivating Shona verse that underscores the song’s universal appeal.
