In an exciting development for Amapiano fans and music enthusiasts alike, Kay Invictus, the dynamic DJ, producer, and rising Black Is Brown star, has unveiled his latest single, ‘YEYEE 2.0’.
The track, which officially dropped this week, serves as a tantalizing preview of his forthcoming EP, ‘My Life In Music’, set to release at the end of the month.
Following the impressive success of his debut EP 0202 and the hit single ‘Halala’, Kay Invictus is poised to cement his place in the Amapiano scene with ‘YEYEE 2.0’.
This new single, a high-energy anthem designed to make listeners hit the dance floor and celebrate life, draws inspiration from Zan’Ten’s original ‘YEYEE’ featuring Mr JazziQ, a track from their album ‘Another Version Of Us 2’.
In a recent statement, Kay Invictus shared his enthusiasm for the project:
“I decided to create the second version, or as we call it, a 2.0 because the vocals/chants on the song blew me away and they really enjoyed the craft I created. This song is quite a happy song and can be played everywhere and everyone can surely dance to it and create beautiful memories.”
Hailing from Alexandra Township and born Kabelo Pooe on February 2, 1994, Kay Invictus has been immersed in music from a young age.
His musical journey was significantly influenced by his family and his early exposure to Amapiano. Known for his distinct sound that blends various elements including Kwaito, Invictus has collaborated with notable names such as Kabza De Small, Major League DJZ, and Sizwe Alakine.
Kay Invictus’ breakout track ‘Halala’, a collaboration with M.J, Mr JazziQ, and Mellow & Sleazy, has garnered widespread acclaim, further solidifying his reputation in the music industry. His debut EP 0202 also received enthusiastic responses, marking him as a rising star in the Amapiano genre.
