“Working with Shakes & Les has been one of my greatest adventures yet,”
she reveals.
“I understand their sound, and they understand my vocals, so it’s been easy to work with them. The creative space on the day that we recorded was epic because I was anxious at first, but Les was so kind and patient with me, and I found my rhythm easily after that!”
Mashudu, born Mashudu Musoeu, has built a notable career since her formative years in opera. Her diverse musical repertoire includes chart-topping hits like “Mina Nawe,” “Qhude,” “Kuvaliwe,” and “Umoya,” showcasing her evolution from opera to Amapiano.
