A bold new voice rises in Afro-electronic music
South African Afro-tech DJ and producer Charley Dixon has released her latest single, Get Up, featuring the stirring vocals of Yedda. Released under the Intascore label, the song is now available on all major digital platforms.
A sonic call to action
Blending futuristic Afro-tech production with an emotionally charged vocal performance, Get Up is more than just a dance track—it’s an anthem of courage, freedom, and self-belief.
“This song is about stepping into who you are without fear,”
Dixon explains.
“It’s about shaking off hesitation and going after the life you want.”

Rooted in the Northern Cape, rising in the city
Originally from Barkly West near Kimberley, Dixon’s journey began at Volume Music Academy in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. There she developed her skills as a DJ and producer, setting the foundation for a career that challenges industry norms and uplifts listeners through sound.
A personal path through pain and power
Dixon’s debut single Wagga, released in 2023, was a heartfelt tribute to her late father and marked her entry into the music world as a producer. Since then, she has steadily made a name for herself in South Africa’s male-dominated Afro-tech space, gaining recognition for her emotionally layered, forward-thinking productions.
A taste of what’s to come
Get Up is the lead release from an upcoming body of work that will explore themes of identity, elevation, and unity. With dream collaborations on her radar—including artists like Toshi, Msongi, Jordan Arts, Mpho Wav, Black Motion, and Spice Drumz—Dixon’s ambitions reflect her drive to grow artistically while staying rooted in community and purpose.
