Amapiano Producer Claims He Was Shortchanged Despite Hit Song’s Success
Amapiano producer Ranger has sparked controversy on social media after posting a video in which he alleges that he was exploited during the creation and commercial success of the hit song Kwelanga.
In the video, Ranger claims that he played a far greater role in the production of the record than many fans realise and suggested that certain industry figures received credit and benefits that did not accurately reflect their contributions.
According to Ranger, discussions around the song initially began as a collaborative effort, with agreements that later changed as the track gained momentum. He alleges that royalty splits and contractual arrangements evolved over time, leaving him dissatisfied with the outcome.

One of Ranger’s most explosive claims relates to production credits on both Kwelanga and another song he referenced as MKK.
