Y, South Africa’s pioneering commercial radio station, continues to redefine traditional broadcasting while championing emerging talent. As the station unveils its highly anticipated 2025 lineup, kicking off on April 1st, listeners can expect fresh energy, bold new programming, and an expanded digital presence.
Club Y: A New Era in Music
One of the biggest changes this year is the introduction of Club Y, replacing the legendary YTKO mix show. This new feature brings a dynamic rotation of top DJs, ensuring non-stop, high-energy mixes from Monday through Saturday. Listeners can look forward to performances from Shakes x Les, Thee Buhle, Ggoldie, Lesedi The DJ, Rarri, Venom, DJ Pedabotic, Legendary Crisp, DJ Zan-D, DJ Samba, and Just Mo.
Revamped Weekday Schedule
The weekday lineup receives a major refresh, featuring new shows, hosts, and collaborations:
- The Way Up (05:00 – 09:00) – Hosted by Nia Brown and Okay Wasabi, bringing high-energy mornings.
- Morning Break (09:00 – 12:00) – Xtremme is now joined by Noni Khumalo as a contributor.
- The Lunch League (12:00 – 15:00) – Caddy and Yvette Floss keep the midday groove alive.
- Home Run (15:00 – 18:00) – Ayanda MVP continues her reign, now joined by Y’s latest recruit, Sinaye.
- Happy Hour with Sinaye (18:00 – 19:00) – The reality TV star brings a fresh and engaging hour-long show.
- UNCENSORED (20:00 – 22:00) – Hosted by Tulz Madala and Dimpho Mokgotho.
- Savage Nights (22:00 – 00:00, Sunday to Wednesday) – Presented by Thabo X and Shamiso.

The weekends bring even more excitement, featuring both familiar and fresh voices:
- Wake ‘n Shake (06:00 – 10:00, Sat & Sun) – Sizwe M takes the lead on weekend mornings.
- The Glow Up (10:00 – 14:00, Sat) – 2024’s BeTheNext winner, Karen Mthethwa, makes her debut.
- Sunday Feels Part I & II (06:00 – 14:00, Sun) – Sizwe M and Karen Mthethwa set the tone.
- The Global Experience (14:00 – 18:00, Sun) – Hosted by Just Mo, bringing global sounds to Y.
- Sundaze (18:00 – 22:00, Sun) – Fif_Laaa closes out the weekend with deep, soulful vibes.
Expansion Into Digital: Beyond FM Strategy
Y is also launching three brand-new digital shows as part of its Beyond FM strategy:
- Tell Us Y – Hosted by Hey Shawty.
- Culture Unlocked – Hosted by Perceey ASF.
- Yonda Way – Hosted by Zingah.

Saying Goodbye to Beloved Hosts
As part of the transition, Y bids farewell to two of its long-time personalities, Supta and Mthaux. While their presence will be missed, their legacy remains deeply ingrained in Y’s DNA.
